Warren County man charged with sexual battery

A Warren County man will stand trial in November for sexual battery
Jereme Craig Strickland, 39, 5147 Oak Ridge Road was arrested this week on a capias warrant from the District Attorneys Office after a secret indictment by a Warren County grand jury charged him with sexual battery without consent.
He appeared in court and pleaded not guilty.
Circuit Judge M. James Chaney set trial for Nov. 17.
The indictment against Strickland accused him of sexual battery from August 2013 through October 2013.
The victim is identified only by initials, which is a common practice when the victim his younger than 18. No age or gender of the victim, however, is listed in the indictment.
Strickland posted $25,000 bail and was released from the Warren County Jail.

In Warren County Circuit Court for the week ending Friday:
• Antoinette Marine Davis, 29, 3703 Grammer St., Monroe, La., was found guilty of violating probation for felony shoplifting and sentenced by Circuit Judge M. James Chaney to five years in prison. Davis was indicted in October 2013.
• Christopher D. Jones, 24, 1712 South St., was found guilty of violating probation for robbery and returned to probation with the stipulation that all fines and fees associated with his case be paid in full by Dec. 31. Jones was indicted in October 2009.
• Quan’Neisheia P. Pugh, 23, 1415 First North St., pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact to drive by shooting and was sentenced by Chaney to 16 months and four days of time served followed by five years’ probation and $384.50 in costs. Pugh pleaded guilty to a criminal information dated Aug. 1.
• Demika Thomas, 32, no address available, was found guilty of violating probation for possession of a controlled substance and sentenced by Chaney to two years’ probation on condition that she pay $1,000 to cover past due fines and fees. Thomas was indicted in October 2009.
• James Terrell Ward, 35, 1502 Spring St., pleaded guilty to third-offense driving under the influence and was sentenced by Chaney to Ninth Circuit Drug Court for a period not to exceed five years, a $2,000 fine and $1,309.50 in costs. Ward was indicted in October.
• Tylon Tryvon Williams, 22, 469 Union Ave., was found guilty of violating nonadjudicated probation for receiving stolen property and sentenced by Chaney to four years in prison followed by three years’ probation. Williams pleaded guilty to a criminal information dated Oct. 17, 2013.
