Erdis Eva Parker

Erdis Eva Parker passed away on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2014, at Heritage House Retirement Center. She was 95.
Born in Neshoba County to Walter and Loraine Hill Goldman, she moved to Vicksburg in 1953. She was the owner and operator of The Fabric Center in downtown Vicksburg for over 35 years and was a member of First Baptist Church and the Grand Adventure Bible Class.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Edward D. Parker Sr.; and three sisters, Edna Richardson, Sula Ferguson and Bernice Moore.
She is survived by a son, Edward Douglas Parker Jr. (Jan) of Birmingham, Ala.; a daughter, Jinnea E. Presley of Vicksburg; two brothers, F.B. Goldman of Arlington, Texas, and Rodney Goldman of Philadelphia; three sisters, Lois Beason and Pauline Hardy, both of Philadelphia, and Walterine Sheffield of Dallas; grandchildren, Robbie Presley of Vicksburg, Staci Brown (Craig) of Jacksonville, Fla., Dana Sheffield (Alex) of Starkville, Holly Morris (David) of Madison, Natalie McDonald (Wes) of Mountain Brook, Ala., and Tiffany Stephens (Brad) of St Louis; and great-grandchildren, Emily, Presley and Sophie Morris, Luke and Cole Stephens, Quinn McDonald, Parker Mason Brown and Nathan and Troy Sheffield.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at Glenwood Funeral Home with Capt. David Morris, chaplain, officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be D.D. Davidson, J.W. Carter, Tom Hill, Jim Pilgrim, Dennis Markle, Randy Oswalt, Bill Hobgood, Don Presley, Ricky Tillotson and David Baldwin. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews and the staff of Heritage House Retirement Center.

The family would like to give special thanks to Kim Carr and her phenomenal staff at Heritage House Retirement Center. The care and love they gave Mrs. Parker was such a blessing to her and her family. Thank you also to Kim Shockley at Gentiva Hospice. Your compassion and expertise was very meaningful in those last days.
