Gladys Marie Garrison Bingham died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at her home. She was 91.

She was a graduate of Jackson State University. After retiring as a school teacher for the Vicksburg School District, she managed a bookstore, and was a member of Bingham Memorial Baptist Church, where she was active as a member of the choir, and a former Sunday school teacher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mary Grissom Garrison; her husband, the Rev. Joseph T. Bingham Sr.; and her brothers, Claude Garrison and Robert Garrison Jr.

Survivors include her son, Joseph T. Bingham Jr. of Vicksburg, daughter, JoAnna Jones, also of Vicksburg; six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, 2014, at Bingham Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. James Archer officiating. Burial will follow in the Zollinger Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
