Kayla Mayfield accounted for eight of Warren Central’s 14 blocks, but the stout defensive effort wasn’t enough for the Lady Vikes as they lost to Northwest Rankin 25-12, 29-27, 25-17 on Tuesday.

Mayfield added five attacks and three kills for Warren Central (1-2 in division play), while Carley Pitzer had three aces and Shae Bracey and Tae Hubbard had six digs each.

Warren Central will return to action Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Greenville-Weston.
