EDWARDS — Milton Carl Stokes Jr. of Edwards died Sept. 3, 2014, in Edwards. He was 42. 

Mr. Stokes was born Dec. 31, 1971, to Patrica Ann Stokes of Edwards and the late Carl Stokes Sr. He attended Mixon Elementary School in Utica, South Park Elementary in Vicksburg, Vicksburg High School and Hinds Community College in Utica.  He was a member of Bethel Church of God in Christ in Edwards.

Survivors include his mother; children, Shylhela Lashay Stokes and Malik Rashad Freeman of Vicksburg; two sisters, Felecia  Stokes of Tennessee and Aerley Patten of  Vicksburg; four brothers, Marcus Stokes of Atlanta, Maurice Stokes of Utica, Sedrick Allen of Bryam, and Deontae Stokes of Hattiesburg.

Services will be Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at United Missionary Baptist Church in Edwards. Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Willis and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.
