Fannie Lou Adcock Vowell of Vicksburg died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at her home. She was 74.

Mrs. Vowell was born in Yazoo County and was the daughter of the late Nathan Williams and Nettie Watson Williams. She was a retired employee with the Illinois Central-CN Railroad.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyal L. Adcock Sr.; a son, Elice Curvin Adcock and a daughter, Rebecca Waldrop.

Survivors include two sons, Hoyal L. Adcock Jr., of Jayess and Thomas Alvin Adcock of Vicksburg; a daughter, Renee Adcock Irons of Vicksburg; brother, Latham Williams of Magee; a sister, Nettie Louise Rogers of Cruger; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 18, 2014, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Ladon Dawson officiating. Burial will follow at Mars Hill Cemetery in Noxapater, with the Rev. Jimmy Wyatt officiating.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the hour of service.
