Miss Kerut to marry Mr. Wilson Nov. 22

The engagement of Marianne Joy Kerut and Lucas Hillman Wilson, both of Jackson, is announced today.
Miss Kerut is the daughter of Doctor and Mrs. Timothy Philip Kerut (Beckie) of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of George and Bettie Weathersby of Pelahatchie and Edmund and Marianne Kerut of Clinton.
Mr. Wilson is the son of Doctors Rhonda and James Wilson of Meridian. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Pickett Hillman of Neely, Miss and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Elton Wilson of Meridian.
The bride-elect is a 2006 graduate of St. Aloysius High School where she was Salutatorian, senior class president, and co-captain of the cheerleading squad. In 2010 she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Mississippi State University. At Mississippi State University, she served as secretary and SET leader for Kappa Delta Soroity, Gamma Chi Counselor, served on MSU Campus Activities Board, and treasurer of Omega Greek Honor Society. She is presently completing her fourth year of Medical School at The University of Mississippi with plans to complete a residency in Internal Medicine after graduation next May.
The prospective groom is a 2007 graduate of Lamar High School in Meridian where he played on the high school basketball team. In 2011, he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He was a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society and Phi Kappa Phi. He is presently completing his fourth year of Medical School at the University of Mississippi. He is a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Gold Humanism Society. He plans to complete a residency in Pediatrics after graduation next May.
Vows will be exchanged at 11 a.m. Nov. 22, 2014 at First Baptist Church in Vicksburg. A reception will follow at the BB Club.
