A shopping event to benefit two local non-profit organizations will be held at the Outlets of Vicksburg Saturday.

The seventh annual Outlets of Vicksburg Shopping Extravaganza will offer shoppers deals and chances to win gift cards and prizes from more than 40 local and regional businesses and organizations to benefit the Junior Auxiliary of Vicksburg and the Hinds Community College DECA Marketing students.

Last year’s shopping extravaganza raised nearly $13,000 for the same organizations, said Manivanh Chanprasith, the marketing manager of the Outlets of Vicksburg, adding they are hoping to exceed that amount this year.

Funds for the groups will be raised through ticket sales, raffle ticket sales and a separate contest, in which New Orleans Saints tickets will be raffled off, Chanprasith said.

The shopping event will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and activities will include complimentary spa and salon services, a catered lunch called Taste of Vicksburg, a complimentary wine-tasting, a training session with Vicksburg Crossfit team and chances to win gift cards and prizes.

Free facials and massages will be offered by merchants. Eleven restaurants have signed on to sponsor the event and Vicksburg Convention and Visitors Bureau is among the corporate sponsors.

Tickets are $20 and include all activities and special discounts to outlet stores, and are available at the customer service office at the mall, from any Junior Auxiliary or DECA member or online at www.outletsatvicksburg.com/event/shopping-extravaganza/2145441515.
