Dorothy M. Cupstid

Dorothy M. Cupstid died Thursday, Sept. 25, 2014, at River Region Medical Center. She was 86.

Born in Stein, La., she was a former resident of Bogalusa, La., and had been a resident of Vicksburg for the past 57 years.

Mrs. Cupstid was the daughter of the late Fred Rester and Zelia Toney Rester. She was a bookkeeper for the Piggly Wiggly stores and First National Bank for many years prior to her retirement. She was an avid gardener sharing her love of flowers with her many friends and was talented with her ceramic creations. She was a member of First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Cupstid is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joseph J. Cupstid of Vicksburg; one son Joseph J. Cupstid II of Vicksburg; and nieces and nephews

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2014, at Riles Funeral Home with Dr. Matt Buckles, pastor of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Gardens.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church or a charity of choice.
