Lady Vikes fall to Northwest in four games

Warren Central put up quite a fight Thursday night, but couldn’t get past perennial powerhouse Northwest Rankin.

The Lady Vikes won the second game after dropping the first, then lost the last two games and the match 25-17, 17-25, 25-16, 25-16.

Kayla Mayfield had six kills on 11 attacks for Warren Central (9-12, 5-5 in division play), and added five blocks on the defensive end.

Shae Bracey had 13 digs, two blocks and four kills, while Liz Boyd served six aces.

Northwest Rankin improved its overall record to 17-3 with the victory, and is 9-0 in division play.

Warren Central will host Murrah Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in its final home game of the season.
