Dr. Smith marries Rev. Brown June 28

Dr. Jami Smith and Rev. Granger William Brown, both of Southaven, were married June 28, 2014 at 3 p.m. at Triumph Church.
The bride is the daughter of Sherry A. Smith and the late James E. Smith, Sr. of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Dorothy M. Warren and the late Wilbert H. Smith, Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. John L. Smith, Sr., all of Vicksburg.
The groom is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Leslie F. Brown of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Granger E. Ray of Vicksburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. William F. Brown of Albion, Michigan.
Pastor Mike Fields and Rev. Casey Fisher officiated at the ceremony.
Given in marriage by her brother, James E. Smith, Jr. of Memphis and Uncle William H. Smith of Dover, Delaware, the bride’s chosen colors were apple red, yellow and silver.
Nakiesha Shepherd of Cordova, Tennessee served as maid of honor.
Angela Chery of Bowie, Maryland and Yolanda Jones of Ridgeland, served as the matrons of honor.
Sharon Caldwell of Vicksburg, Nita and Wendy Durrell of Clinton, Ilia Hamilton of Sontag, Mississippi, Angela Smith of Fort Worth, Bridgette Smith of Benbrook, Texas, and Sheronda Wilson of Memphis were the bridesmaids.
Avery Brittingham of Fort Worth, LaRhonda Wilson of Port Gibson, Angela D. Hicks and Michia Lumpkin, both of Vicksburg, were the junior bridesmaids.
Shantell Caldwell, Lexi Smothers, and Anitra Warren, all of Vicksburg, were the flower girls.
Derrick Allen of Keller, Texas and Glenn Kane of New Orleans were the best men.
Anthony Collins of Norfolk, Virginia, Ronnie Brown, Derrick Gardner, Deshae Harris, Dontae Jefferson, Deshawn Oliver, and John Thomas, all of Vicksburg, were the groomsmen.
Steven Caldwell, Louis N. Smith, Tyler Smith, Lamar Smothers, Jamal Williams, all of Vicksburg, served as the ushers.
Jeremiah Chery of Bowie, Maryland was the ring bearer.
A reception followed at the Vicksburg Convention Center.
For a wedding trip, the couple went to various places in the Southern Caribbean.
The couple will make their home in Southaven.
The bride is employed at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis. The groom is employed at Vicksburg Warren School District.
