Melvie Louise Loyd Bryant died Oct. 14, 2014, at River Region Medical Center. She was 69.

Mrs. Bryant was born in Pattison on June 12, 1945, to Marie and Elmer Loyd. She married Johnny Ray Bryant on July 10, 1961, and they were married for 53 years.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Earl Loyd.

Survivors include her husband, of Hermanville; sons, Tommy Ray Bryant of Hermanville and John Elliott Bryant of Temple, Texas; sisters, Belinda Lee Chambliss of Port Gibson and Sherrie Ann Kinnebrew of Vicksburg; brothers, Ricky Loyd of Pattison and James Tanksley of Port Gibson; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery in Jefferson County.

Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home from noon until the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be Melvin Chambliss, Ray Bryant, Jerry Bryant, Kevin Bryant, Larry Loyd, Ernest Moore, Vern Bailey and Robbie Bryant. Honorary pallbearers will be Damon Henderson and Allen Baker.
