Arnold Martin Dean Jr., 71, of Starkville, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, at The Solana in Germantown, Tenn.

Arnold was born Jan. 5, 1943, in Vicksburg. He graduated from H.V. Cooper High School in 1961, and later from Mississippi State University in electrical engineering. He served as an officer in the Vietnam War, and then worked as a radar specialist in the public and private sectors.

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Martin Dean Sr. and Helen Jones Dean.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Dean; his children, Christian, Derek, Mason, and Dylan Dean; his stepchildren, John Winton (Jaime) and David Winton (Cathy); grandchildren, Cairo Sodersten, Zoe, Stella, and Maggie Winton; and his sister, Dotti Dean Rankin (Jerry) of Vicksburg, and her children Ben Bryant and Jessie Bryant Smith.

A memorial service will be scheduled in the near future at Memorial Park in Memphis, Tenn.
