Dosia ‘Bud’ Johnson Jr.

Dosia “Bud” Johnson Jr. of Natchez died Sunday, Oct. 16, 2014, at River Region Medical Center. He was 84.

He was born June 25, 1930, in Edger Mount, the son of Dorsey Johnson and Louvinia Gaines. He was a member of American Federal Union and a former member of Portal Chapel Church in Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Rene Bell Johnson; first wife, Elnora Rouster Johnson; a brother, Eddie Miller; a sister, Mary Hodges; and a grandson Herman Johnson.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Bell Johnson; five daughters, Delories Johnson of Jackson, Patricia Ann Johnson and Samantha Anderson, both of Vicksburg, Bobbie Jean Reynolds of Natchez and Rochelle Johnson of Seattle; five sons, Charles Johnson of Horn Lake, Ervin Johnson of Port Gibson, and Louvin Johnson, Willie Johnson and Cleyon Johnson, all of Vicksburg; five sisters and five brothers; and cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Services will 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at Murray Temple in Natchez with elder Randy Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetery in Edger Mount under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Natchez.

Visitation will be Saturday at Murray Temple from 10 a.m. until the service.
