A four-legged zombie, a furry doctor and the Wizard of Oz’s Cowardly Lion tramped around in the grass outside the Vicksburg Outlets Saturday afternoon. No, it wasn’t a movie set or even a Stephen King novel. The costume-clad critters were there for the annual Spooky Pooch event, a costume contest for pets and their owners sponsored by Paws Rescue.
The competition, which is broken up into five categories, is a way for the Vicksburg community to connect with its local animal rescue.
Winners of the Spooky Pooch competition were:
First place overall: Stacy Jones with Bella the English bulldog
First place winners:
Nicolette Davis with Bo as the Cowardly Lion
Olivia Lee with Debby as Michonne from The Walking Dead
Celeste Constancio with Lucy as a zombie
Alexa and Annie Gomez with Lady as Olaf from the movie Frozen
