Troy J. Myers

CARTHAGE — Troy J. Myers, 80, an educator, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at River Region Medical Center.

Mr. Myers was a native of Leake County and a member of Bovina Baptist Church. He received a master’s decree in education and taught in the Leake County School System.

Survivors include a daughter, Alice Jones of Vicksburg; sons, Troy Myers Jr. of Cookeville, Tenn., and John Myers of Clinton; brothers, Roy Myers of West Point, Everett Myers of Crestview, Fla., and Franklin Myers of Richland; and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Mike Jones, Ronnie Johnston, Jay Woodruff, Ron Horn, Joshua Myers and Caleb Myers.

Honorary pallbearers were Troy Myers Jr. and John Myers.

Services were 1 p.m. today, Nov. 6, 2014, at Wilcox Funeral Home in Carthage with burial in Madden Cemetery.
