Richard Johnson, 50, passed away Nov. 8, 2014, surrounded by family after a long battle with cancer.

Richard is survived by his wife of 25 years, Louise Wallace Johnson; and his sons, Phillip Warren Johnson and Mitchell Thomas Johnson.

He is also survived by his parents, Bill and Pat Johnson of Vicksburg; his sisters, Jennifer Aultman (Roger) of Richland and Susan Faulk (John) of Vicksburg. Richard leaves nieces and nephews as well as other family and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Cecil and Laura Jean White Pritchard of
Clarkson, and Samual Thomas and Emily Williamson Johnson of Vicksburg.

From an early age, Richard had a love for all things mechanical.

He became a Ford certified master mechanic early in his career at Rivertown Lincoln Mercury. Later, he opened his own shop, giving him the ability to stay home and raise his boys. Richard used his talent and knowledge to assist many people.

He was an avid fisherman. He loved bass and perch fishing, and was obsessed with both until he became a master. He shared this passion with many friends and anyone else that would listen.

Richard affected many people by sharing his philosophy on life. Richard believed in the importance of spending time with family and friends while enjoying the everyday moments in life, making memories and “going all in” on your passions.

Funeral services for Richard will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2014, in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with Dr. Chaz Rowland officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Johnson, Mitchell Johnson, James Hall, Payton Fulgham, Morgan Johnson and Donnie Sims.
