Reader says let’s work together to improve education in our city

I am trying to kick start an educational movement in Vicksburg. I am proposing a total community involvement, to improve school accountability for our children. To start I am encouraging all churches and social groups to take an interest in our schools. The communities could help by embracing change. By ignoring the poor school performance situation will not make it go away. I am calling on the parents, you hold the key to change, do get involved.
We need training in the schools to facilitate classroom management and to alleviate bullying. Behavior in the schools is gradually changing. The principal is the instructor leader and the disciplinarian. He should ensure learning is being fostered in a safe environment.
Vicksburg stand up for our schools and our community, we have the same type of children as in other districts. The community must partner with the schools and insist that needed changes are made. Our children are our tomorrow.
Plus start ongoing voter education for unregistered voters.
