Thursday night the Warren Central High School Winter Concert opened with the religious song “Let my people go.” the performance included the Concert Choir and singers from the Madrigal choir. Eight choirs performed at this year’s winter concert.
The night was light and fun for the audience as the different choirs sang and danced. 15 songs were performed during the concert. Some of these songs were “Angels We Have Heard On High” sang by the Concert Choir and “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” performed by Total Sound.
Laughs came from the audience as the Women’s choir performed “Santa Baby.” The girls flirted with the crowd as they danced in place. The Women’s choir also sang the classic Christmas song “Ava Maria.”
“I thought they were all wonderful. They did a great job,” said Carey Kitchens a science teacher at the high school. Teachers and students who attended the concert cheered for the singers throughout the evening.
More laughs came from the crowd when a jolly snowman came bounding to the stage. Everyone joined it to help the snowman sing “Frosty The Snow Man.”
During the evening’s performance nine girls dressed as reindeer charmed the audience as they dance and sang “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer.” Later the crowd was asked to take out their keys and jingle them to the Christmas classic “Jiggle Bells.”

Madrigal singers enticed the audience with a regale performance of  “Pastyme” and “Sing We Now of Christmas.” The choir performed four songs in mid-evil costumes.
Warren Central’s show choir Total Sound sang “Sway.” The students paired off to dance and sing the popular 1950s song.
“There’s no greater blessing on earth than to teach choir to these students,” the choir director, Nancy Robertson said. Other students had a lot to say about the concert. “I love to sing very much,” said Zaria Nixon. Nixon is a part of the Women’s Choir. “It was cool. It was fun. I enjoyed it,” said Alex Turner, one of the concert musicians.
Before the last performance of the evening the lights in the auditorium turned off. The audience sat in silence as students could be heard getting on the stage. The next lights to come on were black lights.
More than 150 students performed “Sleigh Ride” in the darkness. The only time students could be seen during the performance was when their hands appeared in white gloves. During the song students held up neon colored jingle bells and smiling faces that glowed in the black lights. The performance was a crowd pleaser. There was a standing ovation after the performance.
