Funeral services for Floyd Gene Watson, Sr. are to be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29 in the Bright Morning Star M.B. Church with the Rev. Reginald Harris officiating; there will be a visitation hour from 5 to 7 p.m. on today in the chapel.

Floyd Gene Watson Sr. died Friday, Nov. 21, 2014, at his residence following a sudden illness.  He was 69.  He was retired.  He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Tyner Ford Post #213 VFW

He was preceded in death by his father, Clifton Watson. He is survived by his son, Floyd Gene Watson II;  his daughter, Jessica Janice Watson of Pasco, Wash.; their mother Elnora White Watson; his mother Beatrice Kincy Watson Grant; his stepfather Robert Grant; brothers Clifton Watson Jr and Frank Watson; sisters Shirley Watson and Connie Watson, five grandsons; a granddaughter; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and others including members of the Wilkerson, Wince, Mitchell, Fountain, Haynes and Tolliver families of Vicksburg.
