Dear editor,

Where are the visionaries who are supposed to be representing the City of Vicksburg?

We know there are suppose to be three of them, one mayor and two aldermen.

Is your work really speaking for itself?

It really doesn’t seem to be from my point of view.

There’s this thing now called someone is going to be left out of the equation. One side of the city improves, while the other side of the city is not improving at all.

The north side of town is just a shame. The only thing I see improving in the north is the graveyard. The streets need improvement, all the playgrounds need improvements, and all the basketball courts need improvement (poor lighting at all of them, they need to be outlined with new paint, and new nets). It’s a double standard and favoritism taking place right now.

One thing I know that God doesn’t honor and that’s favoritism. Doing for one and not the other.

There seems to be a lot of that going on right now with the City of Vicksburg officials.

People are getting tired of all those broken promises you all made to get voted into your positions.

Most of all, God is tired. Look at Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, it’s an eyesore as you drive in that area. Martin Luther King Jr. has rolled over in his grave three or four times by now. It’s sad and a shame.

That area should be a memorial and recreational Area in his honor. Tear down the old Humpy Dumpy Store; Straughter Building, and tear down that Old Rooming House.

Tear down the Old Kuhn Memorial Hospital and turn it into a recreational park in honor of Martin Luther King Jr.
