NATCHEZ — A Natchez teenager missing since Monday morning has been found safe at home, Adams County Sheriff Chuck Mayfield said this morning.
The sheriff said the family of Silas Sessions Whitaker, 17, contacted the sheriff’s department and said the teen was at home.
Further details would be available later today, Mayfield said.
A missing child alert had been issued Monday for Whitaker after he didn’t show up for classes at Cathedral School. Mayfield said the teen left his phone and other personal items at his house on Martin Luther King Jr. Road.
Investigators had gone through Whitaker’s computer and interviewed family and friends, Mayfield said.
The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has not released additional details about the case.
