The former treasurer of the Redwood Elementary School PTO and Vicksburg Soccer Association is free on bail this morning after being arrested for a new embezzlement charge.

Emily Fulcher McClurg, 34, 10300 Oak Ridge Road, was arrested Wednesday and charged with embezzlement, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

In the new case, McClurg is accused of stealing funds from the Vicksburg Soccer Association, Pace said. McClurg served as treasurer of the association from June 2012 until Dec. 1, 2014, he said.

She was previously arrested Nov. 21 and charged with embezzlement in a case involving the Redwood PTO, where she was treasurer, Pace said. That investigation began after members of the PTO alerted sheriff’s deputies that there was a discrepancy in checking accounts under McClurg’s care.

“This of course is a separate felony because it is two different organizations,” Pace said.

The investigation into the Vicksburg Soccer Association funds began about the same time deputies were investigating McClurg for embezzlement in the Redwood case, Pace said.

Amounts in both cases have not been released, though Pace said “a significant amount of funds” were missing.

McClurg posted $5,000 bail Wednesday and was released.

An audit of accounts from both organizations is expected to be complete in time to present the case to the January term of the Warren County grand jury, Pace said.
