Meeting Wednesday, the Vicksburg Board of Mayor and Aldermen:

• Issued a proclamation honoring the St. Aloysius football team on its season and winning the North State Championship.

• Presented trophies to the winners of the Downtown Vicksburg Christmas Parade.

• Adopted the minutes for the Aug. 18 and 25 board meetings.

• Heard an update on events at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center.

• Authorized City Clerk Walter Osborne to advertise for concrete.

• Approved paying $450 for radio ads on radio stations KHits 104.5, River 101.3 and 92.7 promoting the city in connection with the Sixth Annual Chili for Children Cook-off in January.

• Approved paying $2,415.80 for the city’s share of expenses at the Vicksburg-Tallulah Regional Airport.

• Approved paying the following requisitions: $31,323.15 to Emergency Equipment Professionals of Pelham, Ala. For air packs, facemasks and valves for the fire department, and $10,632.50 to Adaptco Inc. of Sanford, Fla. For an upgrade for the mosquito control machines at the street department.

• Approve complimentary use of the Vicksburg Auditorium by the Vicksburg Warren School District for a reading fair, Jan. 13-14; science far, Feb. 23-25; and honor choir performance March 23-24.

• Added the following employees to the city employee driving list: Mary Blair, cemetery, and Tevis Harris water department.

• Approved paying $500 for an ad promoting the city for the Omicron Rho Lambda of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity 26th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship Breakfast.

• Approved paying $300 for an ad promoting the city in the 2015 Red Carpet Basketball Classic program.

• Approved paying $250 for an ad in the Gridiron Classic program.

• Approved paying $357 per issue for the The ’Sip Magazine for 2015 winter, spring, summer and fall.

• Adopted the City of Vicksburg Water System Emergency Response Plan, which is required under state regulations. The plan includes procedures to follow and the telephone numbers of officials to call in case of an emergency.

• Adopted the following budget amendments: Transfer $2,400 in grant funds for the Mayor’s Health Initiative from state grants to supplies and conference costs; $10,500 from the homeland security grant fund to the police moveable equipment account; $3,837.50 from the state grants account to contractor services.

• Authorized Osborne to advertise for bids for a street sweeper.

• Approved the equal employment opportunity program report, which is required under the regulations for the U.S. Justice Department law enforcement assistance grant. The report outlines the city’s process for hiring minorities.

• Approved the annual Mississippi Department of Transportation Title VI assessment report.

• Authorized Community Development Director Victor Grey-Lewis to remove a dilapidated building from property at 1206 Mundy St.

• Approved liens for cutting and clearing the following property owned by the State of Mississippi: 1601 Court St., $101.25; 1226 Second North St., $132.50; 1804 South St., $105; 1611 South St., $136.25; 1115 Second North St., $113.75; 812 Walnut St., $101.25; 801 West Pine St., $122.50; 2715 Drummond St., $150; 1104 Third North St., $142.50; 1740 Martin Luther King Blvd., $101.25; 1601 Martin Luther King Blvd., $107.50; 1609 Martin Luther King Blvd., $122.50; 922 Meadow St., $98.12; 911 Meadow St., $100; 519 Fairground St., $120; 924 Meadow St., $120; 1429 Martin Luther King Blvd., $106.25; 1604 Martin Luther King Blvd., $103.75; 1616 Martin Luther King Blvd., $103.75; 2503 Togo St., $101.25; 1228 Grammar St., $141.25; 1400 South St., $101.25.

• Adopted a resolution to advertise surplus property at 1234 Magnolia St. and Crayton Street for sale.

• Authorized Mayor George Flaggs Jr. to sign a lease agreement with Unitech for a copier for the cemetery department for $123 per month.

• Authorized Flaggs to sign and agreement totaling $60,000 with JH&H Architects for the design and construction documents to re-roof the Vicksburg Convention Center.

• Approved a schedule for and excess loss policy and authorized Flaggs to sign an agreement with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi to administer the city’s health insurance program.

• Approved a change order totaling $3,730,27 with Sunbelt Sealing Inc. of Jackson to rehabilitate the main apron at the Vicksburg Municipal Airport.

• Approved the claims docket.
