Port Gibson woman struck by car

A Port Gibson woman was struck by a car Wednesday mooring in front of Walmart 

Lauri Greer, 37, of Port Gibson was hit by a 2011 Ford Escape driven by Brooks Boggan, 65, of Vicksburg after 7 a.m. Wednesday, Vicksburg Police Chief Walter Armstrong said.

Greer was in the crosswalk in front of the store when she was hit, Armstrong said. The woman initially refused medical treatment, Armstrong said.

The woman later called VPD to report she planned to be examined by a doctor, Armstrong said.

 

Man arrested on Yazoo County warrant

A man arrested by Vicksburg police Tuesday and accused of stealing guns in Yazoo County was held without bail Wednesday morning.

Ronald Patrick Glenn, 40, no address available, was arrested Tuesday in Vicksburg on a Yazoo County warrant for grand larceny, Vicksburg police Lt. Troy Kimble said.

He is accused of stealing several firearms from a Yazoo County home, Kimble said. Yazoo County officials notified VPD Tuesday that Glenn was staying at a Vicksburg casino, Kimble said.

Glenn was arrested at Lady Luck Casino, 1380 Warrenton Road, without incident, Kimble said.

Glenn was held without bail Wednesday morning in the Issaquena County Correctional Facility awaiting return to Yazoo County.

 

One held for drug court

A Vicksburg man was held without bail Wednesday for drug court.

David Lewis, 27, 109 Hazel Drive, was held in the Warren County Jail on a drug court sanction.
