Mary Grays Moore

Mary Grays Moore died Jan. 5, 2015. She was 58.
She was born March 24, 1956, in Vicksburg to the late Willie “Bilbo” Grays Jr. and Roberta Richmond Currie.
She graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1974 and attended Vicksburg Vocational College.
She began her professional career at the Vicksburg-Warren Public Library, and in 1981 was employed with the Social Security Administration Office, where she worked for 33 years.
Ms. Moore was a member of New Mount Zion Church under the direction of the Rev. R. L. Miller, and also served as the church secretary until her death.
She was an honorary member of St. Paul Church in Bovina under the leadership of Pastor Tyrone Dixon.
She was preceded in death by her father; her great-grandmother, Leana Smith; grandmother, Mary Hill; an aunt, Ethel Bryant; and a devoted brother-in-law, Robert Earl Hall.
Survivors include her two sons, Jermaine D. Grays Sr. and DeCedric T. Moore; her daughter, Kimberly R. Moore, all of Vicksburg; four grandchildren; her mother and stepfather, Willie and Roberta Currie of Vicksburg; two sisters, Flore Roberson Hall and Gloria Harris both of Vicksburg; three brothers, Romano Currie of Santa Cruz, Calif.; Reginald Johnson of Meridian and Willie Currie Jr. of Lawndale, Calif.; and nieces, nephews and other special friends and relatives.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015, at the Vicksburg Auditorium with the Rev. Tyrone Dixon officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation is today from l to 6 p.m. at the funeral home with the family hour from 5 to 6 p.m.
