David E. McClurg of Vicksburg, died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2015, at Sharkey County Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 63.
David McClurg was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and outdoorsman. He retired from Waterways in October 2014. David and his wife Donna celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on January 11.
Survivors include his wife, Donna Brooks McClurg of Vicksburg; a son David Quinn McClurg (Emily) of Vicksburg; a daughter: Amy McClurg of Vicksburg; grandsons David Anden McClurg and Reed Wallace McClurg; brother: Duane McClurg (Dean), Delta, La.; sisters: Sharlott Valentine (Dr. James), Mariann Todd (John), Mona Whitson (Whit) and Kay McClurg.
He was preceded in death by his father: David Wendell McClurg; and mother: Mary Denley McClurg
Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Anderson officiating. Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home in Vicksburg, MS is in charge of arrangements. 601-636-7373.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2015, from 9 a.m. until the hour of service.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Copes, Neal Hannon, Henry Wells, Clyde Roberson, Humphrey Barlow, Parker Stevens, James Henry, Ray Dingler, Ray Emerson, Quint Mason, Buddy Lofton and all members of Rocky Bayou Hunting Club.
