Walter T. May

GULF BREEZE, Fla. — Walter T. May died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2015. He was 88.

Born in Mobile, Ala., to Walter and Eloyse May, Mr. May was a resident of Vicksburg, Mississippi since 1961.

He was a member of the accounting firm of May and Company and had since retired in 1989. He attended the University of Alabama, where he played football for the Crimson Tide. During World War II he served in the 67th Armored Infantry Battalion, 13th Armored Division.

He was a member of the Vicksburg Lion’s Club and served as treasurer of the Vicksburg & Warren County Historical Society for many years.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David L. May.

He is survived by his children, Catherine May Brown of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Harold M. May of Vicksburg, Sharon Y. May of Anderson, Texas, and David R. May of Bilbao, Spain; one brother, Raymond B. May, and five grandchildren. He was a member of Hawkins Methodist Church.

Private services for Mr. May were today, Jan. 20, 2015, at Rose Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Rose Lawn Funeral Home of Gulf Breeze, Fla.
