YAZOO CITY — Willie Earle Hood, 86, of Vicksburg, formerly of Yazoo City, passed away at her son’s residence in Vicksburg Monday Jan. 19, 2015.

She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church, and the widow of L. A. “Joe” Hood, who served as District 3 supervisor on the Yazoo County Board of Supervisors for many years.

Survivors are her son, William Allen Hood of Vicksburg; daughter, Angela Hood Miller of Louisville, Ky., grandsons, Derek Shane Miller of Jackson and William Allen “Will” Hood II of Vicksburg; and two great-grandchildren, Gabe Miller and Eli Miller.

The Rev. Cortez Hutchinson will officiate the service at Stricklin-King Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. The family will accept visitors beginning at 10 a.m.

Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.
