William “Skip” Franklin Armstrong died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 65.

Born on Nov. 5, 1949, to Johnnie Armstrong and Doties Miley Armstrong in Mount Enterprise, Texas, he had lived in Vicksburg since 1990.  He was a retired truck driver.

Besides with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Johnnie Sue Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Ellen Nielson Armstrong of Vicksburg; daughter, Iras McHenry of Texas; sons, Andy Armstrong and Allen Armstrong, both of Texas, Billy Muirhead and Micky Muirhead, both of Vicksburg, and Robert Redden of Utica; sisters, Patricia Pender of Winnsboro, La., and Linda K. Rodriguez of Vicksburg; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Wayside Baptist Church.

Visitation will be at the church from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service.
