David Willie Owens

David Willie Owens passed away Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 64.
He was born in Port Gibson on Jan. 26, 1950, to J.E. Owens II and Vergie Mae Irby Owens.
He was a talker, a storyteller, a mechanic, an advisor, a wheeler, a dealer, a gardener, a hunter, and a traveler. He loved to ride for miles, constantly looking for bargains and antiques or just looking.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by a son, Willie Owens (Juanita) of Vicksburg; daughter, Patricia Koch (David) of Aurora, Neb.; nephew, Mark Owens; grandchildren, Michael Owens, Cody Owens, George Owens, David Koch, and Kayla Koch; and great-grandchildren, Patrick Koch, Jennifer Koch, Michael Koch, Kory Owens, Ryliegh Owens, and Maci Owens.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2015, at Glenwood Funeral Home with John Slade officiating. Interment will follow at Sarepta Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be Michael Owens, Cody Owens, George Owens, David Koch, Kayla Koch, B.J. Watson, Lum Purviance, and Kory Owens. Honorary pallbearers will be Woodie Wiggly, John Tompkins, Jamie Sheller, Norment McElvoy, and Ellis Watson.
