Ricky Don Whitener died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 60.

Born in Paducah, Texas, Mr. Whitener lived Anguilla, where he was employed by Carter Brothers Farms. He was a member of the Southern Ginners Association and a member of Rolling Fork First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley K. Whitener of Anguilla; his daughter, Jenny Beliew of Weatherford, Texas; his three sons, Gaston, James and Eric, all of Elgin, Texas; his sister, Sharron Jones of Mission, Texas; and four grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
