were among some of the newspaper and media professionals honored Saturday during the 2015 Mississippi Press Association’s Mid-Winter Conference in Jackson.

For their work in developing and designing advertising campaigns for local business and organizations in 2014, the team received a total of 10 awards in the small daily newspaper category.

The awards were presented as part of the 2015 Better Newspaper Competition Advertising Division.

“These advertising and creative service parts of our company are among the strongest you will find in this industry,” Post Publisher Tim Reeves said. “Their passion for finding and developing marketing solutions for our advertising and business partners is evident each and every day.

“I could not be more proud of them getting the recognition of their peers.”

Advertising manager Angela Ross leads the advertising team of Sheila Mantz, Lacey Gullett, Catherine Barry and Deonna Powell.

Creative services is led by David Girard and Melissa Scallions.

The combined teams won four first place awards, one second place award and five first place awards.

The awards were presented during an awards banquet Saturday at the Hilton Conference Center in Jackson.

The winners in the MPA’s Better Newspaper Contest Editorial Division will be announced during the MPA’s Summer Convention scheduled for June in New Orleans.
