Daven Anderson Murphy died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, at River Region Medical Center.

Mr. Murphy was born on Feb. 5, 1978, in Vicksburg to the late Otha “Buck” Murphy and Zelmarine Anderson Murphy.

He was a product of the Vicksburg Warren School District, attending Halls Ferry Elementary School and graduating from Warren Central High School in 1996. He attended Hinds Community College and Alcorn State University.

He was a member of Triumphant Baptist Church and was actively involved in in the church’s youth activities.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Zellner and Hazel Brown Anderson; paternal grandparents, Otha and Annie Mims Murphy; and his aunt, Patricia Anderson Segrest.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Zelmarine Anderson Murphy; brothers, Otha Zellner Murphy and Starling Murvette Murphy, of Vicksburg; twin nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, 2015, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dexter Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home with family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
