Services for Alma Laverne Jackson will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015, at New Rock of Ages M. B. Church with the Rev. Jonathan Hamlin officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation is today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jackson died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2015, at Central Mississippi Medical Center.  She was 63.

She was a retired teacher’s assistant for the Vicksburg Warren School District and a member of New Rock of Ages M. B. Church, where she was choir president and assistant Sunday school secretary. She was also active in the Women’s Auxiliary of the American Legion Tyner Ford Post 213.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bennie Jackson.

Survivors include her sons, Raphelp Jackson of Killeen, Texas, and Jarrett L. Jackson of Vicksburg; two brothers, Darryl Moss of Pomona, Calif., and Jordan Moss Jr. of Inglewood, Calif.; sister, Laureen Moss of Richmond, Texas; mother, Ida Collins Moss and stepfather, Jordan Moss Sr. of Richmond, Texas; two grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
