Richard L. Kitchens

Richard L. Kitchens passed away Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at River Region Medical Center. He was 81.
Born in Jackson March 17, 1933, to George Joseph Kitchens and Elle Mae Harrison Kitchens, he had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1969. He was employed as the manager of Paine Supply for 35 years. Along with his wife, he was the owner/operator of Kitchens Upholstery for approximately 45 years. He was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Kitchens of Vicksburg; son, Richard Kitchens (Shirley) of Gilmer, Texas; daughter, Carolyn Clark (Phillip) of Redwood; two brothers, Dick Kitchens and Danny Kitchens, both of Pascagoula; two sisters, Sis Kitchens of Jackson and Bobbie Cowan of Raymond; five grandchildren, Phillip Clark Jr., Jacquatta Garner, Richard Lee Kitchens III, George Adam Kitchens, Stephanie Hargrove, and Gary Chaffin Jr.; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Glenwood Funeral Home with Chaplain Joe Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Park in Jackson.
Visitation is today from 5 to 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Clark Sr., John Garner, Richard Lee Kitchens III, George Kitchens, Jonathan Garner, and Matthew Garner. Honorary pallbearers will be David White, James White, Al Kitchens, Travis Simpson, and Kody Britt Jr.
