Three Mississippi State football players, including starting quarterback Dak Prescott, suffered minor injuries in a fight in Panama City, Fla., several media outlets reported late Monday night.
Prescott, defensive lineman Torrey Dale and backup quarterback Damian Williams were reportedly jumped while at a Waka Flocka concert. The three players were in Panama City for spring break.
Video of the fight and pictures of Prescott first surfaced on the EliteDawgs.com message board, a Mississippi State fan site, and were later posted to Instagram.
In one video, Prescott is on the ground in a parking lot while a man kicks him. Another picks up the action seconds later and shows Prescott trying to stumble to his feet but falling back down several times.
Prescott appeared to have bruises on his arms and back, a gash on his forehead and several other minor cuts. Mississippi State assistant athletic director for media relations Bill Martin told Yahoo! Sports that none of the injuries were serious.
Martin said the assault was unprovoked and that the players did not know their assailants.
Prescott also confirmed the incident on Twitter and indicated he was heading back to Mississippi.
“Thanks for all the Concerns and Prayers! I’m okay and ready to get back to Starkville. Ignorance happens! Be safe on spring break!” Prescott posted.
