Funeral services for Lyma Weathers will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2015, at First Christian Church in Hermanville, with the Rev. Eddie Wells officiating. Burial will be in Hermanville Cemetery, with Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. of Port Gibson in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Weathers died Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, in Queen Creek, Ariz. She was 77.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Pearl Phelps; her husband, George Weathers; a son, Jarod Weathers; six sisters, Gussie Morrel, Juanita Laury, Geraldine Childs, Quintine Jones, Hazel Gibson and Georgia Bracey; and two brothers, George L. Gibson and Philip Phelps.

She is survived by two daughters, Iris Weathers and Renee Weathers, both of Queen Creek; two sisters, Claudine Jones of Atlanta, and Johnnie Ruth Blake of Chicago; two brothers, Arthur Phelps Jr., of Hermanville, and Ernest Phelps, of Vicksburg; five grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
