Marguerite Parker

Marguerite Parker died Saturday, March 7, 2015 at River Region Medical Center. She was 76.

A 37-year resident of Chicago, Mrs. Parker was member of New Jerusalem Church and Apostle Pentecostal Church of Morgan Park there, where she was superintendent of Sunday School, Sunday school teacher, usher board, musician and a radio announcer. She had lived in Vicksburg for 19 years and was a member of Triumph Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Maggie Robinson; her father, Saul Matthew and brother, James Matthew.

Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Mack Parker, Jr.; three daughters, Gretchen A. Parker-Woods, Veronica Parker-Davis and BeNita Parker-Owens; one son, Bobby Parker; one step-son, Vernell Bass; two granddaughters which she considered as her daughters, Ki’Chawn T. Parker and Sheridan R. Vaughan; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday at Triumph Church (136 Honeysuckle Lane), with pastor Mike Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church 10:30 a.m. until the hour of service.
