Ellis Jabour Farris died March 21, 2015, at River Region Hospital. He was 87.

He was born on Nov. 22, 1927, the only child of John G. Farris and Sara Jabour Farris in Vicksburg.

Mr. Ellis was a graduate of Carr Central High School in 1945 and was in the Occupational Army in Japan. After completing his tour in the Army, he attended Tulane University, where he studied law.

He later attended the University of Mississippi where he then received a law degree, and practiced law in Vicksburg until his retirement. He was member of the St. George Orthodox Church in Vicksburg.

Survivors include his wife, Pat T. Farris of Vicksburg; son, John A Farris of Vicksburg; daughters Fran Armstrong of New Orleans and daughter Laura A. Farris of Gluckstadt; two grandchildren and one great-grandson.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, March at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until the hour of the service.
