Karleen Klein Davis Theobald

Karleen Klein Davis Theobald died Saturday morning, March 21, 2015, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 89.

Karleen was born in Harriston Sept. 23, 1925.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Pierre “Bobby” Theobald; her parents Harold Ray and Elizabeth Klein Reeder Davis; and her son, Bruce Klein Theobald.

After graduating from St. Francis Xavier Academy in Vicksburg, Mrs. Theobald attended Incarnate Word College in San Antonio.

She married Robert Pierre Theobald on Jan. 7, 1951, and the couple moved to Fayette, where they started a cattle ranch.

The Theobalds returned to Vicksburg in 1958, and in 1988 they moved to the Eagle Lake Community.

In addition to raising her four children, she had an additional love — animals.  As a result, Mrs. Theobald was one of the founders of the Warren County Humane Society.

Mrs. Theobald is survived by her daughter, Sherry Alene Theobald Smith and her husband Winfrey Haden Smith of Brandon; sons, Robert Davis Theobald of Washington, D.C., and Gregory Pierre Theobald and his wife Deborah of Eighty Four, Penn.; seven grandchildren, Shane Smith, Ashley Theobald, Lindsey Theobald, Adam Theobald, Christopher Theobald, Selena Bullard and Christi Dyess; eight great-grandchildren, Mari Miller Theobald, Jackson Klein Dickerson, John Davis Dickerson, Hunter Theobald, Adri Bullard Rogers, Brie Dyess, Amelia Bullard and Addison Blair Dyess; and her daughter-in-law, Dette Theobald Vedros of Vicksburg.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, with the Rev. Betty Koestler Love, pastor of the New Covenant Church in Ellisville, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Garden Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the hour of the service.
