Richard David Donohue

Richard David Donohue of Vicksburg passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. He was 68.

 

Rich served in the United States Navy on the USS Enterprise in Vietnam between 1963 and 1967. He was avid about golf and more avid about the Philadelphia Eagles. Rich held his head high, kept his word, had many friends and would stop in his tracks to help someone. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Josephine Donohue; sister, Carol Donohue; and a brother, Joey Donohue.

 

He is survived by his wife, Nanci Donohue of Vicksburg; a son, Mark Donohue; daughter, Andrea Holt; sister, Mary Winberg and brother-in-law Jerry Winberg of Nettletown, Pa.; three grandchildren, Mark Donohue Jr., Ashley Donohue and Britney Holt; three nephews, Michael Winberg, Greg Winberg and David Winberg; and his four legged fur baby “Little Bubba Elway;” and grandnephews and nieces.

 

A Memorial Mass will be Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas Lalor officiating. A celebration of life will be Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Monsour’s at the Biscuit Co. from 4 p.m. until.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or A.S.P.C.A.
