A Vicksburg man was shot Monday, and police were searching for clues.
Kawjana Jones, 19, who refused to give police his address, was shot around 1:30 p.m. in front of Fredella Village Apartments, 1205 China St., Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
Jones was treated and released from Merit Health River Region.
Two other people had bullet holes in their pants legs but were not injured in the shooting, she said.
Police responded to the shooting and received descriptions of several vehicles what were fleeing the scene, Williams said. A vehicle matching one of the descriptions was stopped in the 1500 block of Cherry Street, and Jones was a passenger, she said.
“Investigators did find a couple weapons inside the vehicle,” Williams said.
The vehicle was towed for evidence, and at least three people were detained for questioning, Williams said.

Bell is accused of shooting Jalin Hargrove, 18, 435 Lake Hill Drive, and Gregory Vaughn, 18, 1501 Grove St., Nov. 3 in the 800 block of National Street.
Hargrove and Vaughn were treated and released from the hospital, she said.

Employees of George Carr Buick Cadillac GMC and police were working to determine what was stolen from the building when a burglar or burglars ransacked it Monday.
The business at 2950 S. Frontage Road was reported burglarized just before 8 a.m., Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
It did not appear any major items were missing, she said.
