Services for Gladys Louise Winston will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Oak Chapel M. B. Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Chapel Cemetery under the direction of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Winston died on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at her home.  She was 67.

She was a retired school teacher, having taught at Hall’s Ferry Elementary School and retiring from the Sherman Avenue Elementary School.  She was a member of the Oak Chapel M. B. Church, where she founded and served as president of the Women of Virtue of Oak Chapel M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Marie Jenkins Winston.

Survivors include her sons, Charles Winston Jr. of Vicksburg and Donald Christopher Erves of Birmingham, Ala.; her daughter, Laura McCullen of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Thomas Winston and Charles Winston Sr., both of Vicksburg, and McArthur Winston of Muskegon, Mich.; five sisters Harriet Lange of Atlanta, Sue Anderson of Muskegon, Mich., and Beatrice Perkins, Dorothy Erves and Thelma Winston, all of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
