Sammy J. Sullivan died on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at his home.

Born in Monroe, La., he had been a resident of Vicksburg since birth. He was a carpenter and an avid outdoorsman with an appreciation for farming and raising livestock.

Survivors include his three daughters, Samantha Sullivan, Shannon Sullivan and Suzanne Sullivan; two sons, Tyler Sullivan and Zachary Sullivan; six grandchildren; father, Jimmy Sullivan; sister, Terri Sullivan-Spears; four brothers, Ronnie Sullivan, Edward Sullivan, David Sullivan and Wendell Sullivan; and a special friend, Louise Kirkley.

He was preceded in death by his mother, JoAnn Pharr; and a niece, Evelyn Sullivan.

Services will be noon Friday, April 24, 2015, at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Ron Burch officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the service.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1380 Livingston Lane, Jackson, MS 39213.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Sullivan, Zachary Sullivan, Tony Guin, Alton Miller, Shag Miller and Glenn Welch.

Mr. Sullivan’s four brothers will serve as honorary pallbearers.
