Sibyl Davis Wright died April 25, 2015, in Pass Christian. She was 91.

Born in Natchez, she was the daughter of the late Adiel Sherwood Davis and Eva Whitaker Davis.  She was a graduate of Culkin Academy and later joined the United States Marine Corps during World War II and was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant.

Mrs. Wright was a former member of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenwood, North Carrollton Baptist Church in North Carrollton, and New Hope Baptist Church in Dyer, Tenn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wright; daughter, Charlene Wright; and her sister, Jean Davis Brown.

She is survived by a son, Robert Wright (Mamie); sister, Betty Davis Worley; three grandchildren: Nathan Wright (Bridgett), Carter Wright (Ginger), and Jonahan Wright (Sandra Lorenz); one great-granddaughter, Violet Elizabeth Wright; and her sister, Caroline Alea .

Graveside services with Military Honors will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 2015, at Yokena Cemetery with the Rev. Bryan Abel officiating and under the direction of Riles Funeral Home. There will be no visitation.

Pallbearers will be John Wright, Lum Wright Jr., John Bove, and Gary “Bo” Frank.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Eugene McNalley and the staff of Dixie White House Nursing Home in Pass Christian, MS for their care and love for Mrs. Wright.
