PORT GIBSON — Louis Charles “L.C.” Claiborne died Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at Merit Health River Region Medical Center. He was 74.

Mr. Claiborne is survived by his wife, Marie Claiborne of Port Gibson; two sons, Louis Charles “Buddy” Claiborne of Port Gibson and David Claiborne of Natchez; three daughters, Linda Parker, Joyce Claiborne and Brenda Claiborne, all of Port Gibson; a brother, J.C. Campbell of Port Gibson, MS; three sisters, Azelle Green of Port Gibson, Olega Coleman of Atlanta and Bobbie Lawrence of Milwaukee; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015, at First Baptist Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Kevin Winters officiating. Burial will be at Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home Inc. of Port Gibson.

Visitation will be Sunday from 1p.m. until 6p.m. at the funeral home, and Monday at the church from noon until service.
