Blue Jays golf tournament

The Vicksburg Blue Jays, a 13-and-under tournament baseball team, will hold a fundraiser golf tournament Friday at the Vicksburg Country Club.

The four-man scramble begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m., and the cost is $100 per person. Check-in and lunch begin at 11:30 a.m.

Sponsorships are also available for $100 per hole.

Cannon Soccer tryouts

Tryouts for the Cannon Soccer Club will be held June 4 at 6:30 p.m., and June 6 at 10 a.m. at the Vicksburg Soccer Organization complex in Bovina.

Cannon Soccer Club is the competitive arm of the VSO. The tryouts are for boys and girls ages 10-18.

Play 2 Wynn basketball camp

Former Vicksburg High star Donna Brown-Wynn will host her 13th annual annual Play 2 Wynn basketball camp June 1-5 at Vicksburg High School. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon each day, and is for boys and girls ages 6-17. The cost is $75 per person. Players of all skill levels are welcome.

Brown-Wynn is a former VHS and Mississippi State star who went on to coach at Mississippi State, Belmont University and Tennessee State.

Southern Miss baseball camp

Southern Miss will host two baseball camps this summer for children in grades 1-7. The camps will run from June 8-11, and July 13-15, and cover fundamentals in hitting, baserunning, and defensive techniques.

The camps will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day at Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg, with sign-in taking place from 8:15 to 9 a.m. The cost of each camp is $165 per person, and the camps are limited to 100 participants.

Hinds CC soccer camp

The Hinds Community College men’s and women’s soccer programs will host their annual youth soccer camp June 1-5 on the Raymond campus. The camp is for boys and girls ages 7-14. It begins each morning at 8 a.m. and continues until 4:30 p.m.

The camp will feature instruction from current and former Hinds coaches and players in technique training and tactics. The cost of the camp is $175.
