Community Baby shower a success

Dear editor.

On Thursday, May 21, a Community Baby Shower was held at Merit Health River Region to benefit the children and parents served by Cary Christian Center and Vicksburg Family Development Service.

This event was possible because of the vision and commitment of the 2015 Vicksburg Leadership Class sponsored by the Vicksburg Warren County Chamber of Commerce. The outpouring of gifts from this community can only be described as EXTRAVAGANT!

Words cannot express our thanks for the generosity shown at this event. Companies and individuals worked together to make the Community Baby Shower a success far beyond any of our expectations. Special thanks goes to each of the following members of the Leadership Class who saw a need and worked tirelessly with compassion and determination to make a difference in our community: DaCondra Smith, Roy Delaughter , Khelli Lockridge, Fonce’ Bates, Greg Honeycutt, Lindsay Carruth, and Elyce Curry.

These young leaders represent the strength of our community, and they have been an inspiration to all of us through this event. Special thanks also goes to United Way of West Central Mississippi and Merit Health River Region for co-sponsoring this wonderful event. We are truly humbled and blessed by each item that was given and will use them wisely to bless those who need them most. Thank you!
