“It is important for us, when looking for people to join our team, to find those who are willing to learn and excited about their community,” Post managing editor Paul Barry said. “Not only does Alana have these, but also she has a passion for history and the role it played in shaping our community. That is a fantastic combination.”

While at UA, Norris wrote for the student newspaper The Crimson White and was a news reporter intern for The Tuscaloosa News.

“I can’t wait to get to know the people of Vicksburg and get involved in the community,” Norris said. “I’m also excited to put both of my degrees to work with the rich culture of history here in Vicksburg.”

“Alana has a great attitude and the desire to serve the community, two things we are looking for in a reporter,” Barry said.
